George C. Morrison

Colonie - George (Bud) Morrison, age 87, left this world October 29, 2017 to be reunited with his wife, Joan who passed away July 11, 2017. George passed peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn with his family at his side.

Born on June 3, 1930, George grew up in Albany’s “South End” where he met, married and started a family with the love of his life, Joan. George and Joan moved their young family to the Town of Colonie where they lived and were very happy for many years.

George worked diligently his whole life, working on a farm in Medusa as a young boy, Williams Press, National Lead, Tobin Packing, A&P as a teenager, and his first trucking job as a young man at Western. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, working at APA Transport for many years, where he was a driver and later became an Operational Manager in Albany. He worked with his son David at Van Go Express, and in semi-retirement, with fondness for the wonderful people working at Surroundings in Colonie, delivering flowers.

Bud loved to spend time with his family and friends and enjoyed the many parties and holidays spent together. Bud loved the NY Giants and was a faithful fan of the Yankees. He loved cars, day trips and was an avid coin collector. He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the Casinos.

Cherished father of Kenneth (Judith), Stephen (Susan), George, David (Patricia) and Denise; treasured grandfather of Brian (Magdalena), Matthew (Delila), Geoffrey (Liz), Billy (Emily), Stacy (Alvin), Kathryn (Brandon), Kirstin (Alyssa), Jillian, Eric, Joseph, Michael, Mary and Daniel; beloved great-grandfather of Haley, Connor, Matthew, Collin, Isabella and Lincoln.
