Colonie - Peter A. Denninger passed away peacefully on July 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Peter was born in Albany, N.Y. August 12, 1928 and resided in Colonie most of his life. He attended Roessleville school, was employed with General Electric in Schenectady for 40 plus years, and a member of the quarter century club. Peter enjoyed his long retirement and spent his time traveling with his wife and friends throughout the United States, and relaxing at the family camp in Saranac Lake, N.Y. that his father built. He was a life member with the West Albany Fire Department #2 and was honored Fireman of the year in 1965. Peter was the son of the late Norbert Denninger and Ann (Lawlor) Denninger and was also predeceased by his son Paul F. Denninger in April of this year. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Martha M. (Schmitt) Denninger, devoted daughter Mary Ann Denninger of Voorheesville, N.Y. and beloved son David P. Denninger of Colonie, N.Y. Funeral 9:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
