Colonie - Andrew J. Bisognano, 83, of Maple Dr. died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Community Hospice of Albany Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born and raised in Colonie, he was a lifelong Colonie resident. Andrew worked for Terminal Hardware for 20 years before opening his own store, Andy’s Colonie Hardware. He retired after 32 years. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Guilderland and was a life member of the West Albany Fire Department. Andy was the husband of the late Theresa Bisognano; son of the late Carmela Sofia and Joseph Bisognano; father of Joanne Dwyer, Micki Robbins, Charles (Tara) Dwyer and Christopher (Niki) Bisognano; brother of Sam Bisognano, Philip Bisognano and the late Anthony Bisognano, Joseph Bisognano, and Catherine Rose Bisognano; brother-in-law of Ann Rexford and the late Beatrice Bisognano; grandfather of Robert (Rose) and Andrea Piurowski, Jessica Robbins, and Wilhelmina, Bronwyn and Aurora Dwyer; great-grandfather of Nora, Grace and the late Aerolyn Piurowski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Albany, NY 12203. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Christ the King Building Fund would be appreciated.
