Johnstown - Barry Hawkyard died Saturday, October 4, 2014. Born the son of William Hawkyard and Charlene Ling Hawkyard in Detroit, Michigan on February 24,1950, he moved ot New York State in 2001. He last worked for Chemstar Chemical Comapany, retiring in 2007 because of ill health. Barry loved nothing more than his family and he liked fishing and traveling to other towns and seeing how that community was. Barry was engaged to Carole Warner and was the father of Jason Hawkyard ( Heather) of Rotterdam, NY, Nicholas Hawkyard (Kristen) of Cohoes, NY, David Johnson of Johnstown, NY and Christopher Warner (Stacia) of Pullyup, Washington; brother of Preston Hawkyard (Sharon) of Michigan and the late Tonya Hawkyard; brother-in-law of Lois Hayes of Fonda, NY and Sharon Dutcher of Buffalo, NY; grandfather of Zoe, Stephen, David, Adam, Mckensie, Kira and Arianna. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Barry's life was held on Saturday, Ocotber 11, 2014.
