Obituary of Alice Applegate

Melbourne, FL - Alice “Kelly” Applegate, age 82, passed away on September 20th, 2017 in Melbourne, FL after battling Alzheimer’s Disease.  A longtime resident of Voorheesville, NY she attended the College of Russell Sage and earned a B.S. degree in nursing and loved working as a registered nurse (R.N.) in Labor and Delivery at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY and Hanover Regional Hospital in Wilmington, NC.  Kelly was born and raised in Philadelphia with her sisters Joanne, Anita (her twin), Nancy, Madelyn and brother Larry.

Kelly is survived by her husband Jerry of 62 years, their 5 children (and spouses) - Stephen (Tracy), Mark (Margie), Jeff (Kevin), Kelly (Douglas) Sachs and Dirk (Susan), and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Kelly was an energetic wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family fully.  She will be missed by all.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Cemetery, Elsmere and Kenwood Aves., Delmar, NY.  In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, att: Donor Services, 225 North Michigan Ave., 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601.
