Obituary of Shirley Elizabeth Albright
Voorheesville- Shirley Elizabeth Albright, age 80, beloved wife of Joseph M. Albright, joined her angels and God in heaven on Saturday, September 23, 2017, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Schenectady, NY on October 11,1936 to Lulu and Stanley Sample, she had a twin brother named Stanley. As one of nine children, she spent most of her youth growing up in Albany. She met Joseph while working at Albany Public Markets. They were married October 13, 1957.
For many years she was a stay-at-home Mom, who also cared for other children and welcomed many neighborhood kids into her home. She was always devoted to her family and took the time to listen and help whenever she was able.
Mom will be remembered for her kind nature and big heart. She always attended to her family's needs all her life and was as sweet and loving as any mother ever was. She was an amazing woman who gave much love to her family.
In 1975, she went to work for the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, retiring in 2002. Over the years, her hobbies included ceramics, bingo, going to casinos, needlepoint and quilting. Nothing pleased her like cooking and baking for a gathering of friends and family, and she did that wonderfully! She loved to travel and visited many places with her husband, including her favorites, Egypt and Paris, while visiting her daughter on trips to the Island of Cyprus.
Shirley is survived by her husband of sixty years, Joseph M. Albright; her children, Christopher (Kelly) Albright, Timothy (Susan) Albright, David(Karen) Albright and Debbie(Elmos) Neocleus; also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
