Obituary of Gail Marie McQuade

VOORHEESVILLE  --  Gail Marie McQuade, 76, passed away peacefully at St. Peters Hospice Inn on February 1, 2025.  She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Ruth McQuade, and longtime beloved partner for 18 years, Robert Coffey.

Gail was a graduate of Mercy High School in Albany, NY and for most of her career she worked in the Chancellor’s Office for SUNY Central Administration.

She is survived by five siblings, Corinne Redmond of Glenmont, Susan Mendleson of Albany, Raymond (Laura) McQuade of Guilderland, Tom (Peggy) McQuade of Berne, and Michael (Charlene) McQuade of Pottstown, PA.  Gail also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service for family members will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 7 at Reilly and Son Funeral Home, 1200 Central Ave., Colonie 12205.  Internment following in Calvary Cemetery on Route 9W in Glenmont.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions in memory of Gail be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Peters Hospital and the Hospice Inn for their excellent care of Gail in her final days.  They are angels on earth.
