Obituary of Dorothy C. Davis

Voorheesville - Dorthea "Dorothy" Caroline Davis died at the age of 91 on March 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Born February 24, 1934 in Lansingburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo “Benny” and Grace (Bradshaw) Morris; and the devoted wife of her late husband John Robert Davis who passed away in 2010. Dorothy never let a day go by without keeping herself busy; whether it was taking care of her home, heading out for a fun day at the slots or enjoying lunch with her friends.  She enjoyed preparing warm meals for Monday Night Dinners with her grandchildren, playing weekly card games with her sisters, watching games shows and the Hallmark Channel, trips to the casino and vacationing with her best friends Freddy and Joyce.  Her laughter was contagious and she provided everyone comfort with her presence.  Dorothy was very proud of each of her three son’s successful businesses.

She was the beloved mother of Greg Davis (Yvonne), Randy Davis (Jill) and Richard Davis (Jen). She was the beloved "Nannie" to four grandchildren, Jenelle (Tyler) Davis, Ashley Davis, Bryan (Lexie) Davis and Melanie (Jeff) Krause; and four great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Collin Krause and Vienna and Avery Davis. Dorothy is survived by her sisters Aileen Smith and Barbara Miranda.  Dorothy was preceded by her husband John, sons Robert and Richard, brother Clarence Morris and sister Margaret Burger.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dorothy’s compassionate care takers Rita and Tracey for providing care and support during the past year and her final days. At Dorothy’s request, there will be no services and a private burial will be held for her immediate family.
