Obituary of Ruth Carol Byer Grounds

Loudonville - Ruth Carol Byer Grounds, 88, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 18, 2024 with her family by her side.  Born in Amsterdam, Ruth was the daughter of the late Carlton and Ethel Zimmerman Byer.  Ruth worked as a secretary for several medical offices but her greatest loves were her family, simply being at home and playing games.

Ruth was the wife of the late Richard A. Grounds, Sr.; mother of Debra Ziaja (Mark) of Adams, MA and Richard A. Grounds, Jr. (Jennifer) of Earlton, NY; and grandmother of Malina Ziaja, Anelia Ziaja, Julia Grounds and Jacob Grounds.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and may also visit with her family from 1 - 2 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
