Obituary of Jerry F. Maples

On September 18th, 2023, Jerry F Maples went peacefully to his forever home to be with his wife Barbara Jean, just four months to the date between their passings. Their love is now eternal after almost 60 years of marriage. 

Jerry was born June 20th, 1943 to the late Leroy and Dorothy Maples of Colonie, NY where he lived most of his life. Jerry was a graduate of Colonie High School and loved sports of all kinds. He was a big Washington Redskins fan too!

Jerry found his calling at the Freihofer's Baking Company, working in both the bread and pastry locations as a Senior baker. He retired after 33 years of service. Jerry and Barbara enjoyed camping, Caribbean cruises and trips to balloon festivals in many parts of the country. But most of all Jerry loved his family. When they walked into the room or house, his face lit up with a big smile! He will be truly missed by them.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Cindy Maples (Greg); his son, Michael Urbanski (Victoria); and his grandchildren, Kenneth, Joshua, and Katie Allen and Karissa Urbanski.

He also leaves his brother, James Maples (June) and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

The family would like to thank the Eddy Memorial for his excellent care, and his friend and roommate Warren McGreivy for being so kind.

Jerry will be with his wife Barbara at St Johns' Lutheran Cemetery in Colonie. Donations can be made to the Eddy Memorial in Troy, in Jerry's name.
