Obituary of Robert A. Veino

Schenectady - Robert A. Veino, 62, of Waverly Place died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. Born at Fort Dix in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Helene Sullivan and Milford Veino. Bob had lived in Schenectady for the past 15 years. He was a 1977 graduate of Buffalo Law School and had worked for the New York State Department of Health in the Division of Legal Affairs for the past 34 years. For many years, Bob has been very active in the Adirondack Mountain Club and was both a summer and winter 46er. Also, he was a longtime board member of the Weare C. Little Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Amy; stepchildren, Neal and Elizabeth; sister, Anna Cretz (Andy); nephew, Michael; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their families. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at St. Matthew's Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Friends may call at St. Matthew's Church on Tuesday, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and continuing until 7:30 p.m., at which time a prayer service will conclude the evening. Bob's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Ellis Hospital ICU, especially Laura, Rachel, Randi, Rhonda and Dr. Ford.
