Obituary of Grace Anne Magliocca

Colonie - Grace Anne Magliocca, 81, of Newton St. died Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Colonie, Grace was a lifelong town resident. She was a 1950 graduate of Roessleville High School and worked in the New York State Department of Health, Division of Laboratories and Research from 1951 to 1988. She worked with Dr. Rachael Brown in the discovery and development of NYSTATIN. Grace was a communicant of the former Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Colonie where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Altar Guild. Currently, she was a communicant of Christ Our Light Church and was a member of the Rosary Society. Grace was an avid sports fan with a special love for the New York Yankees and Notre Dame. Grace was the daughter of the late Donata Margarita and Bernardino Magliocca; sister of Rose Magliocca and the late Nancy Santandrea (Louis, Sr.) and Angela "Lee" Tobler (Richard, Sr.); aunt of Louis Santandrea (Linda), Robert Santandrea (Betty), Bernard Santandrea (Laurie), Richard Tobler, Jr. (Carol), Mark Tobler (Katherine Brillat) and Andrew Tobler (Dawn). She is also survived by a grandnephew, Philip Santandrea (Kate); and grandnieces, Rachel Santandrea, Tara Tobler, Leeanne Tobler and Maeve Tobler. Funeral 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 10:00 o'clock at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville, NY 12211. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
