COLONIE - Charles J. Kabrehl, 85, of Weymouth St. died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. Born in Albany, Charles had lived on Weymouth St. for the past 61 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1948 to 1952. In 1952 he began working for Niagara Mohawk as a Gas Mechanic and retired as a Foreman in 1988. He was a 60 year member of the IBEW Union. Charles was handy as a mechanic and carpenter. He enjoyed building his own boats and spending summers fishing and boating on Saratoga Lake. Charles was the husband of the late Rose Calabro Kabrehl; father of Charles J. Kabrehl, Jr. (Sandra) of Albany and Joseph Kabrehl (Gina) of Guilderland; grandfather of Charles Kabrehl, III (Kristina) of Chester, NY, Steven Kabrehl of Albany, Angela Charbonneau of Boston, MA and Jennifer Cunningham (Glen) of Schenectady; great-grandfather of Tyler and Logan Cunningham; and brother of Agnes Gregory (Thomas) of Massachusetts, Janet Richburg of Colonie and Mary Theresa Badcock of Greenville. Funeral 9:00 o'clock Friday morning from the Reilly and Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 10:00 o'clock at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
