Obituary of Kalman Suranyi

Guilderland - Kalman Suranyi - born in Takacsi, Hungary Oct. 13, 1922, passed peacefully with faith in Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, on Sept. 20, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, Albany. Proceeded in death by parents Kalman and Aranka nee' Nagy and brother, Zoltan in Hungary, and friend, Julia Nagy of Glenville, NY. Kalman served in the Hungary Army from 1943-46, came to the US in 1956, attended Hudson Valley Community College, and worked as a machinist, retiring from Norton Company. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Colonie for 58 years and a member of the Hungarian Hall. He is survived by nieces and nephews in Hungary and his "adopted family", Paul and LoriRene' Koehn and their children, Bethany, Josiah, Hannah, and extended family and OSL Church family. Internment will be in Hungary. A memorial service at Our Savior's, 63 Mountain View Av., Albany, NY 12205 will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 3:30pm. Memorial gifts can be made to the Our Savior's Church or School.
