Obituary of Richard F. Krug

Colonie - Richard F. Krug, 92, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Healthcare Center in Bethlehem. Born in Albany, Richard was a lifelong resident of Colonie. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II and worked for most of his life as a photographer. He was a former member of the Colonie Elks. Richard was the husband of 68 years of Roberta Field Krug; father of Robert Krug (Bonnie) of New Baltimore and Paul Krug (Lynne) of Gales Ferry, CT; and grandfather of Richard Krug (Erin) and William Krug. Richard's funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the church Tuesday morning from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., prior to the mass. Burial services will be at a later date in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Richard may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
