Obituary of George E. Bennett

Albany - George E. "Butch" Bennett, 70, of Westview Apartments died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his home. Born in Albany, Butch was the son of the James and Mary Piechnik Bennett. He retired from the Senior Citizens Services, located on Delaware Ave. in Albany after 44 years of service. Butch was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan and also enjoyed bowling, dancing and spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed. Butch was the brother of James Bennett (Agnes), Richard Bennett (Karla), Robert Bennett, Frank Bennett (Tina), Mary Ann Davis (Hank), Constance Pfistner (John), John Bennett (Debbie), Barbara Evans (William) and the late Joan Munson (Harvey), Elizabeth Fulton (Walter) and Joseph Bennett; brother-in-law of Bonnie Bennett; companion of the late Lois Ellsworth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Prayer service will be held at 11:00 o'clock Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 o'clock Saturday morning. Butch's family would like to thank the staff and residents of Westview Apartments, Dr. Habib and Dr. Atkins and their staff.
