Obituary of Harriet E. Shoddy

Clarksville - Harriet Relyea Shoddy, 84, of Fullers Lane died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Bethlehem. Born in Altamont, Harriet had lived in Clarksville for many years. She was a proud homemaker and hairdresser, operating Harriet’s Beauty Salon out of her home. She enjoyed making crafts, knitting, sewing and crocheting, camping and traveling. Harriet was a member of the Helderberg Ridgerunner Snowmobile Club and New Scotland Seniors. Harrriet’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Sue Kidder from the Town of New Scotland for the wonderful care she provides to the seniors. Harriet was the wife of 62 years of Gerald F. Shoddy; mother of Richard Relyea (Patricia), Debbra Miller (John) and Nancy Cass (Donald); grandmother of Theresa Relyea Hill (David), Richard Relyea (Shannon), Trisha Collegian (Kyle), Daniel Seaburg, Zachary Cass and Carli Cass; great-grandmother of Scott Hill, Justin Relyea, Ryenne Relyea and Bryce Collegian; great-great-grandmother of Phoebe Karl; and special friend to Gloria Hotaling. She was predeceased by her siblings. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville with burial to follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland. Friends may also call at the funeral home Monday morning from 10:00 - 12:00, prior to the service.
