Obituary of Craig D. Smith

Voorheesville - Craig D. Smith, 55, of Voorheesville died at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Born in Albany, Craig was a graduate of Voorheesville High School. He attended RIT before transfering to Syracuse University where he graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, Craig worked for AT & T in Boston for 10 years and for the last 23 years he has worked for BOCES in Colonie shere he was a Senior Network and Systems Technician. Craig was a member of the Voorheesville First United Methodist Church, was a Ham radio operator and a musician. He enjoyed playing the guitar, piano, drums and ukelele. Craig was the son of Douglas H. Smith of Voorheesville and the late Audrey Quay Smith; and brother of Mark Smith of Bethlehem. His is also survived by aunts, Shirley, Beverly, Patricia, Lynn, Carol and Lynda; uncle, Wayne; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Voorheesville First United Methodist Church, 68 Maple Ave., Voorheesville, NY 12186. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Craig to the Voorheesville First United Methodist Church.
