Obituary of Marlanna Ghovanloo Nichols

Slingerlands - Marlanna Ghovanloo Nichols, 33, died Thursday, October 22, 2015. Born in Jacksonville, NC, Marlanna was a graduate of Albany Academy for Girls. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC and her Master’s Degree in Administration at Walden University. Marlanna was currently working towards her Doctorate Degree in Education at Liberty University in Virginia. While living in North Carolina, she also worked for nine years as an English teacher and as an Assistant Principal for two years in Fayetteville. Marlanna was the daughter of Amy Robinson Ghovanloo and Keyvan Ghovanloo of Slingerlands; sister of Ariane Field (Michael) of Watervliet; and aunt of Michael, Jr., Olivia and Theodore Field. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at St. Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Calling hours will be at St. Matthew’s on Wednesday from 9 - 11 o’clock, prior to the mass. Burial wll be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
