Albany - Miriam Koops Hesselbacher, 88, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Teresian House Nursing Home. Born in Ridgewood, NY, Miriam had suported her husband administratively while he worked for Baker Furniture in Glen Cove, NY and had been a member of the Glen Cove Women’s Club. In New Scotland, she was a member of the Helderview Garden Club.
Miriam was the wife of the late Martin Hesselbacher; mother of Mark Hesselbacher (Victoria) of Voorheesville; grandmother of Martin and Emily Hesselbacher; sister of Herbert and Dwight Koops. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Chapel at the Teresian House Nursing Home, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203. A visiting hour will precede the mass from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the nursing home. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Queens. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Teresian House Nursing Home would be appreciated.
