Albany - Ilse Peterson Prentsel, 87, of Mercer St. died Monday, February 4, 2013. Born in Tartu, Estonia, Ilse had lived on Mercer St. since 1980. She was employed as a dressmaker and seamstress at Honigsbaum's in Stuyvesant Plaza for many years and continued sewing clothing even after her retirement. She loved her cats and was a member of the Albany Schenectady Estonian Association and the African Violet Society. Ilse was the wife of the late Fridrich Prentsel; mother of Tiiu Simms (Philip) of Ballston Spa, Ingrid Palmer (Richard) of Delmar and Eva Blackman (George) of Colonie. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. those who wish may make memorial donations to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
