Obituary of Ralph S. Ricci

Altamont - Ralph S. Ricci, 81, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home. Born in Voorheesville to Salvatore and Incoronata Iuliano Ricci, he was the husband of 50 years of June Ballweber. Ralph was a well known shoe repairman in the area working first at Whitney’s Department Store, Barney’s Department Store, opening his own shop in Westmere and finally owning and operating Grippo Shoe Repair Shop for many years on Pearl St. in Albany. After he retired from that career he began a second career at Sam’s Club as a demonstrator. In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by Shawn Thibodeau, who was like a son to him and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his his parents and his siblings, Angelo (Cholly) Ricci, Concetta (Agnes) Tucker, Michael Ricci and Amelio (Husky) Ricci. Friends are invited to visit with Ralph’s family from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville.
