Obituary of Geraldine Neumeyer Hinman

Kingston - Geraldine Neumeyer Hinman, 89, formerly of Voorheesville, died Sunday, March 3, 2103 at Mountain Valley Manor. Born in Gilboa on August 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Vashti Smith and Franklin W. Clapper. She lived in Voorheesville for 40 years and in 2010 moved to Mountain Valley Manor where she was welcomed and immediately loved by the exceptional staff. She was Valedictorian or her Gilboa High School Class and a 1944 graduate of Syracuse University. She attended the Albany College of Pharmacy where she received her Medical Technology Degree. Geraldine worked as a Medical Technologist at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, St. Mary's Hospital in Troy and Childs Hospital in Albany. She then worked for the Hartford Insurance Group in Delmar. She was a 64 year member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and enjoyed traveling, reading and cooking. Geraldine was the wife of the late Eugene Neumeyer and Olin Hinman; mother of Marjorie (Kraft) Carpino and her husband Bernard Carpino; grandmother of Nicholas Kraft and his fiance, Aimee Galloway and Jocelyn Kraft; and sister of Franklin Clapper and his wife, Isabelle. She is also survive by several nieces, nephews and the family dogs, Princess and Hershey. Funeral 10:30 Wednesday, March, 6, 2013 from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, 9 Voorheesville Ave., Voorheesville and at 11:00 o'clock at St. Matthew's Church, Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont, NY. Calling hours will be Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 at the funeral home prior to the mass.
