Colonie - Anna Miele Vadney, 97, formerly of Dott Ave., died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Albany County Nursing Home. Born in Italy, Anna moved to the United States at the age of 13 and lived for 60 years on Dott Ave. before moving to the nursing home in 2005. She was a communicant of Christ Our Light Church in Loudonville and had been a longtime parishioner of the former Church of Our Lady of Mercy, where she had been a member of the Rosary Society. Also, she was a former member of the St. Francis Senior Citizens. Anna was the wife of the late Russell Vadney, Sr.; mother of Russell Vadney (Sylvia) of Colonie and the late Eugenia Dugan and Barbara Picard; mother-in-law of William Picard and the late John Dugan; sister of Mario Miele of Guilderland and the late Fannie Bianchini, Geraldine Hillman, Lucy Cardona, Peter Miele and Anthony Miele. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral 11:00 o'clock Thursday morning from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 12 noon at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Anna's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the wonderfully dedicated staff on 2 Highrise at the Albany County Nursing Home and to Father John Waldron for his many visits.
