Voorheesville - Michael Edward Galvin, Sr., born January 20, 1939 passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018, with his loving wife and children by his side.

In addition to his wife, Patricia (Cable), and his children Michelle, Mary Flansburg (Keith), Margaret, Edward II, and Michael, Jr. (Susan), he is survived by his sister, Patricia (Galvin) West, and his aunt, Sheila Galvin. He is the proud grandfather of Maria Martinez (Frank), Melissa Augensen, Kelly and Kody Flansburg, Elizabeth Smith, Megan Fuller (Andrew), Morgan and Madison Galvin, Katie Flansburg, and Richard Soloyna; he is also great-grandfather of Cameron Richard Martinez; and he is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins; and Richard Smith.

He is pre-deceased by his parents Edward and Catherine (Miotke) Galvin; his brother-in-law, Donald West; his uncle, Thomas Galvin; and his aunt, Margaret (Galvin) Dugan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany.  Interment will be at  Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Salem.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation Wish Fund (310 South Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208).
