Obituary of Louise Dreis Hoffman

Colonie - Louise Dreis Hoffman (Miller) 93, departed this life on October 29th, 2018, peacefully with her family by her side. Louise, the daughter of the late Johanna and Charles Dreis, was born on April 4, 1925. She was predeceased by her loving husband Alton A. Hoffman, Sr, her brothers Lawrence and William Dreis and her daughter, Kathleen M. Clapper. Also predeceased by her former husband, Raymond H. Miller.

    She is survived by her children Mary Krug (Larry), Greg Miller(Teena), son-in law -Al Clapper, brother Kenneth C. Dreis (Shirley);10 grandchildren, Stephanie C Malone (Eric), Steven Clapper (Sheila), Greg Miller-Kramer (Sarah), Raymond Miller (Elaine), Jeff Krug (Janice), Daryl Krug(Anna), Valerie K Hansen (Ben),Trevor Krug (Stina), Kimberly Hathaway (Mark), Samantha Talbott(Sean), many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Louise, founder of the Millerette Metronomes Drum & Baton Corp; owner/operator of Cranberry Creek Lodge Twirling Camp also taught baton for many years across the capital region. A past National Chairperson for baton twirling A.A.U., she was inducted into the Baton Twirlers Hall of Fame N.Y.S. and elected President of the board of directors in 2005. Louise worked many years for the State of N.Y Research & Statistics, Department of Labor. She also worked with Monroe Calculator Co, was a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, and a Religious Education Coordinator at St. Francis of Assisi Church. She loved traveling but most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

    Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.  In lieu of flowers, you may contribute in Louise's name to N.Y.S.
