Obituary of Patricia A. Munroe

Bethlehem - Patricia Munroe left us with grace and dignity on Monday, May 27, 2013. Pat loved life to the fullest. She had a great passion for cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends. She was generous, loving and kind. She received her bachelors and masters degrees from SUNY Albany and remained active in her alumni associations and Kappa Delta Sorority. Pat enjoyed local history and volunteered many years at Cherry Hill. She also volunteered at the Food Pantry and was a Lay Minister and Religious Education teacher at St. Matthew's Parish. She enjoyed her Red Hats Club, Capital District Cross Country Ski Club, Thursday Musical Society and her Thursday Bridge Group that met each week since 1975. She was a teacher locally and worked for the N.Y.S. Regents College and the N.Y.S. Education Department. Pat was predeceased by her father, Ralph Pezzulo. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Gilbert Munroe; her children, Richard (Laurie) Mazzaferro and Jeffrey (Colleen) Mazzaferro; her mother, Marion Luther Pezzulo; her sisters, Marilyn Bauer, Christina (Ken) Pezzulo and Natalie (Chris) Monjoy; her brothers, Ralph (Becky) Pezzulo and John Pezzulo; her stepchildren, Betty (Tony) Albanese, David (Terry) Munroe and Margaret Munroe; her grandchildren, Mary (David), Jamie and Bonnie Albanese, Brittany and Leigh Anne Munroe and Michael, Kayla and Cory Jackson; her nieces, Renee (Peter) Morgan and Laura Monjoy; nephews, Michael Bauer, Shane and Max Bobrycki, John Pezzulo and Chris (Cynthia) Monjoy; great-nieces and nephew, Hailey Morgan and Eric and Caterina Monjoy; and many beloved aunts, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Matthew's Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville. A Rite of Reception of Pat's body will take place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Church. Immediately following, the family will be receiving guests until 7:30 at which time there will be a Vigil of Prayer and Remembrance. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Pat's family would like to extend a special thank you to her caretakers at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
