Colonie - John R. Schmitt, 77, of Colonie passed peacefully on July 13, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. John was the husband of the late Elizabeth McDonald Schmitt; son of the late John J. Schmitt and Rosemary T. Schmitt. He is survived by a brother, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. John will lay in rest with his beloved wife Betty at St. Jerome's Cemetery in East Dorset, Vermont. Contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church of Albany.
