Bethlehem - James F. Walter, 81, passed away on April 30, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born on Christmas Day 1939 in Albany NY, Jim was the youngest of 8 siblings. After graduating Colonie High School, he operated Walter’s Meat Market which served the local community 35 years before opening J&D Walter Distributors in Glenmont, NY.
Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia Walter (MacDonald); three children, Susan Walter, James Walter, and Julie Bynum; three grandchildren, Alex Bynum, Jake Walter, and Peter Bynum, and 4 siblings - Dorothy Rice, Dolores Willey, John Walter and Mary Mossman. Jim’s joy was his family, which extended to everyone he met. His gift in life was making each person he met feel special and loved.
Jim is predeceased by his parents Eugene and Barbara Walter, brothers Eugene Walter and Richard Walter and sister Ruth McAuliffe.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at The Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 a,m. on Thursday May 6, 2021 .
