Cary, NC - Lynn M. Sullivan 69, passed away suddenly on May 29, 2021. She was born in Middletown, NY to the late Warren and Virginia Schlickenrieder. She graduated from Vincentian Institute in Albany, and went on to receive her Bachelors Degree from Union College. For many years, Lynn worked as a lab technician. But in 2012, she followed her dream and pursued a second career as a licensed optician. After her retirement, she continued to help people by volunteering for the Lion’s Club and Legal Aid Society. Lynn was also very interesting in learning Spanish and spent many hours attempting to master it as a second language. In addition to her parents, Lynn was predeceased by the love of her life, John “Sully” Sullivan, her brother, Warren Schlickenrieder, and her brother-in-law, John Cox, Sr. She is survived by her sisters, Lauren (Frank) Cox-Fazio and Lee (Robert) Edwards, her nephews Robert Edwards, John Cox, Jr., and Kyle (Alyssa) Cox, a great-nephew, Cameron Cox, and a great niece, Marley Cox. She is also survived by many cousins. There will be a “Celebration of Life” From 4-7PM at Reilly & Son Funeral Home, 9 Voorheesville Ave., Voorheesville, NY on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville, NY. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Lynn’s honor to the Durham Lion’s Club, 1850 Hillandale Road, Durham, NC 27705.
