My condolences and prayers for the family. Bruce and I met when I moved from NY to Florida in 1968. We met on the first day of kindergarten. My Grandfather dropped me off at the bus in his police car. Bruce said “Hey criminal” we laughed and became fast friends for life. I remember his Nana and Bob and spent many, many good times at their house either going fishing or just hanging out. We played baseball together for many years until I moved away to Manasota Key. He was a great 3rd Baseman. He was a funny kid always joking with you. We’d be walking out the door and after he closed the door, but had to go back and touch the door knob like 3 times. (I guess checking to see if it closed). We graduated high school in the Spring of 81. He went off to UF and I went in the USAF. My first duty station was in Valdosta, GA. I called him one time and said “Can I come visit for the weekend?”, he said “Sure”. He always opened up his home and loved catching up with friends. We remained friends and would catch up at reunions and when I would visit South Florida. Bruce loved life and was always there for friends. I have so many memories of great times with Bruce going through my head, Love you my brother!

To the Finch and Hildenbrandt families, My sincere condolences to the families for their loss. We live with the happy memories of having known Bruce as children. We always felt good, when we knew Bruce would be around on Thelma St., because we knew there was fun to be had. Also, remembering all of the good times at South Bay, swimming, fishing and kidding around with Bruce made those summers extra special. His fantastic smile and happy laugh made everyone around him feel good. We are honored to have had Bruce as part of our lives. Bernie McCue

Bruce was one of the sweetest and fun loving guys I’ve ever known. It was clear since junior high, that his whit, charm and awesome smile, he was a true “people person”. He loved everyone and everyone loved Bruce. I wish I could be there for the Celebration of his life. My condolences to all the family and friends who loved Bruce so much.
