Obituary of Carol Ridolfo

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Colonie - Carol A. Ridolfo, 79, entered into eternal life on June 6, 2022.  Born on May 4, 1943 in Colonie, she was the daughter of Bernice (Beardsley) and Howard VanDerVolgen. Carol graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1961. From there she went on to work full time at Fuller Brush Company where she met the love of her life and soul mate, Anthony J. Ridolfo. In September of 1963, they married and shared over 40 blessed years together.

She was at her happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends, whether it be hosting holiday get togethers, family vacations to Myrtle Beach or Florida, or just spending time at camp in the Adirondacks.

Carol was a devoted and loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She always made time for everyone in her family and enjoyed visiting or talking on the phone to family members, especially her niece Katie Fitzgerald who was like a daughter to her. She was a very proud grandmother of her two grandchildren, Anthony and David, and was always quick to boast about their accomplishments or have a photo to share at the ready. Her love for them knew no bounds. She also loved her grandpuppy Star and would keep treats in her pocketbook whenever she visited her.

Carol enjoyed spending time with family and working at the camps in the town of Willsboro on Lake Champlain.  Every weekend durng the summer, she would work hard to maintain the rentals in the morning, have a "michigan" at Ethel's Dew Drop In for lunch, and then watch the sun set over the mountains.

She also enjoyed spending quality time with her friends, usually at bingo, lunch at the diner or playing the slots at a casino.

Carol was an avid cookie "chef", particularly Christmas cookies of which she would start the prep work and baking in October in order to have enough cookies and fruitcakes for all of her extended family and friends by Christmas day. They were always eagerly anticipated...

She was an active parishioner at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Colonie.

She will be forever loved and missed by her son, Michael (Angela) Ridolfo; her grandchildren Anthony and David Ridolfo, and her many nieces and nephews.

She now joins in eternal life with her husband Anthony, sisters Joyce and Elizabeth, Aunt Leona, Uncle Rudy and her parents Bernice and Howard.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Killean Park, Colonie.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.  Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie on Monday from 4 - 7 p.m.  For those who wish, memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association I Research, Education, Advocacy (www.diabetes.org) would be appreciated.
