North Greenbush - Peter M Horvath, MD, age 56 died November 14, 2013 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his beloved wife, children, family and close friends. Born and raised in White Plains New York, Peter moved to Albany to study medicine in 1978 and graduated from Albany Medical College in 1982. He completed his fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1988, Peter returned to the region that had become his home and established the first In-Vitro-Fertilization (IVF) program at Albany Medical Center. Peter's life's work of creating families continued when he and his wife established their private practice, Albany IVF, in 1997. His ambition and dedication propelled Albany IVF to one of the most successful IVF practices in New York. His legacy can be measured by the thousands of babies conceived through his medical practice. His passions were many and his interests endless. Peter was a man of God, active member of the Cathedral of All Saints and board member of the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys. He enjoyed studying Tae Kwon Do with his family achieving the level of 2nd degree black belt this year. He was a dedicated teacher and mentor for numerous OBGYN residents. A devoted father, he treasured the simple times spent with his two children cuddling, and watching movies as they reenacted their favorite scenes in character. Peter is predeceased by Dr. Peter Horvath, Sr. and Judit Horvath of White Plains New York. He is survived by countless loved ones including his wife, Dr. Virginia Giugliano, son, Peter Jr. and daughter, Emma; his sister, Judi Horvath; uncle Barney Vajnovszky; cousins Ingrid and Greg Vajnovszky, Kalman and Peter Hadarits. Remembered by five brothers-in-law and their wives along with 16 nieces and nephews. Peter's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Cathedral of All Saints, South Swan St. in Albany. Visiting hours will be Friday, November 22, 2013 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of All Saints.
