Obituary of Susan Fasciglione

Colonie - Susan Sowers Fasciglione, 83, of Colonie died Saturday, August 24, 2024 at her home.  Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Martha Hoffa and Robert Sowers.  

Susan  graduated from Albany Medical Center School of Nursing in 1962, where she became a registered nurse.  She retired 1996 after working 27 years at Albany County Nursing Home where she was the Assistant Director of Nursing.

After retirement she enjoyed golfing, traveling winters to Myrtle Beach , SC and going to the casino any chance she could get.  She loved playing the slot machines and would often leave a winner. 

Susan’s greatest joy was her family and especially enjoyed watching her granddaughters grow up. She certainly had a big influence on the women that they have become. 

Susan was the wife of John “Jack” Fasciglione for the past 61 years, mother of Lisa (Michael); grandmother of Alyssa and Sydney Kois; and sister of the late Peter Sowers and Jeffrey Sowers.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville.  Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the church Tuesday from 10-11 a.m., prior to the mass.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
