Theresa A. Barnett, 97, passed away December 3, 2013 at the Teresian House. Born in Newark, NJ, Theresa was a life-long resident of Albany. She retired from the NY State Dept. of Education in 1981, was an active member and officer of United Voluntary Services, the American Red Cross, St. Peter's Hospital, CSEA Retirees, and the Hart Social Center at the Albany County Council of Senior Centers and Clubs. She was predeceased by her husband of 21 years, Anthony J. Barnett, who died in 1963. Theresa is survived by her children Catherine of NJ; Marcia of Albany, NY; Paul of Indian Beach, NC; and her four grandchildren. No formal services will be held; per Theresa's wishes, the family is planning a private memorial. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice and the Teresian House for their patience, care and support.
